Glendale, CA – GUSD is seeking parent, employee, and community applicants to join their Restorative Practices Advisory Task Force and provide input on next steps for implementing Restorative Practices throughout the District.
Members will be selected from a cross section of the District community. All potential members of the Task Force must have participated in foundational training in Restorative Practices.

GUSD asks that all applicants bring a spirit of goodwill, an open mind, and a willingness to engage in collaboration, inquiry, and meaningful dialogue throughout the Task Force process.
Task Force Composition
In order to have broad representation of stakeholders, GUSD is seeking up to 21 members for the Task Force:
- Five (5) school administrators from all levels;
- Five (5) certificated staff (teachers, counselors, etc.);
- Five (5) parent representatives and community members;
- Three (3) classified staff; and
- Three (3) high school students.
Purpose & Time Commitment
This is a 2-year commitment for adults serving on the Task Force. Students will earn community service hours for participating. The Task Force will meet monthly from 3:30-5:00 p.m., March-June 2019, with additional reading, research, and subcommittee work to be done outside of the formal meeting structure. Meetings have been scheduled for:
- Thursday, March 14, 2019
- Monday, April 15, 2019
- Wednesday, May 15, 2019
- Monday, June 10, 2019
