GLENDALE, CA – On March 9th, 2021, Glendale City Council appointed Roubik Golanian as Glendale City Manager during their regular meeting. The Armenian National Committee of America – Glendale Chapter (ANCA Glendale) congratulates Golanian on this new appointment and is looking forward to the impact he will make through this new phase in his public career.

“With his exceptional and years-worth experience working with the City of Glendale, Golanian truly embodies the qualifications and characteristics that our residents were looking for in a candidate,” said ANCA Glendale Chairperson Lucy Petrosian. “We are excited to progress our relationship with Mr. Golanian to enhance our city and communities.”

Over a decade ago, Golanian began his career within the City of Glendale through several public positions, including City Engineer, Director of Public Works, and recently concluded his service as Interim City Manager. While he served as Interim City Manager since October 2020, he was accountable for the operation of 15 departments that encompassed over 1,500 city employees. Throughout this time, he led several programs and also managed the city through the shifting COVID-19 pandemic.

Golanian will continue to serve the residents of Glendale as our latest City Manager. The organization is confident that he will strengthen the capabilities of our city and profoundly uplift the experiences of our residents.

ANCA Glendale advocates for the social, economic, cultural, and political rights of the city’s Armenian American community and promotes increased civic participation at the grassroots and public policy levels.
